Paul Chamberlain, Sheffield Hallam University, UK
Title of the talk: Design and the 100-year life.
Bio: Paul Chamberlain is Professor of Design, founder and director of the interdisciplinary research group Lab4Living www.lab4living.org.uk/ at Sheffield Hallam University, UK. Paul’s interest lies in designing and developing tools and methods to encourage and engender social innovation and applies this with a focus on healthcare, disability and ageing. His work explores the multi-sensory aspects of design and the role of artefacts that help define pertinent societal questions as much as present solutions. He has led major interdisciplinary projects and delivered keynote lectures at leading international venues on innovation strategies and sustainable approaches to design and manufacture that have played a significant role in supporting regional industrial reconstruction.
He has recently been awarded £4m by Research England, as part of its Expanding Research Excellence initiative, to explore the role of Design and the 100-year life. Paul is panel member of UK Government's national Research Excellence Framework for Art and Design, History, Theory and Practice.
He has achieved numerous design awards including two millennium product award from the Design Council UK and his work is included in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum London and the Museum of Modern Art, Prague.

Title of talk: Design for Behaviour Change in Health and Care - The Importance of Engagement
Bio: Geke Ludden is Professor of Interaction Design, Department of Design, Production and Management and a research fellow of the DesignLab at the University of Twente. Geke studies the design of products and services that support healthy behaviour and that engage people in therapy. She has published in major design and (e-)health journals such as International Journal of Design, Design Issues, Journal of Medical Internet Research and Journal of Personalized Medicine. She is co-editor of the book 'Design for Behaviour Change' that was published by Routledge in 2018 and editor of the Journal of Design Research.

Erik Stolterman, Indiana University Bloomington, USA
Title of the talk: “Design Judgment, struggling with overwhelming but insufficient information”
Bio:
Erik Stolterman is Professor in Informatics and the Senior Executive Associate Dean of the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is also professor at the Institute of Design at Umeå University, Sweden. Stolterman is co-Editor for the Design Thinking/Design Theory book series by MIT Press, and on several editorial boards for international journals (The HCI journal, International Journal of Design, Design Studies, Design, Economics and Innovation, International Journal of Designs for Learning, Studies in Material Thinking, Human Computation, Artifact). Stolterman’s main work is within the areas of HCI, interaction design, design practice, philosophy and theory of design. Stolterman has published a large number of articles and five books, including “Thoughtful Interaction Design” (MIT Press) and “The Design Way” (MIT Press) and the recently published “Things That Keep Us Busy--The Elements of Interaction” (MIT Press, 2017)
